Attractions at Aranya Udhyan

Butterfly Park, is not to miss. There are about 10 different species. Butterfly friendly habitat is created for breeding. Winter season is best to visit as the butterflies are at peak numbers.
Manmade Pond, a habitat for majority of bird species and turtles. Small bridges are made to get closer with wildlife.
Campsite, currently closed due to covid. It has a dedicated kitchen and tent space.

Wildlife

Aranya Udhyan is a habitat for a lot of uncommon birds like hornbill, whistling duck, Indian Paradise catcher, most are traced near the manmade pond. Deer and Blue bull roam free all over the park. Be a bit aware about the distance from blue bull (Nilgai) they get scared easily. The park has a dedicated butterfly park with about 10 different species. Be careful near the pond you might encounter snakes (mostly are non venomous).

Timming, Fees and Restrictions

The park is open for 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Currently with Covid restriction timming are shortened, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Park is closed on every Monday. The entry fee is ₹20 per person. Professional camera are not allowed in the park. In case you are interested in photographing wildlife and nature a prior permission is required. All the extra permissions can be obtained from Indroda Nature Park. Food is not allowed inside the park to preserve the wilderness.

Best time to visit

Summers are mostly hot in Gandhinagar, Winters are best time to visit. There are no food joint or water dispenser inside the park to preserve the wilderness.
